FULL YEAR!   Jan – Dec 2018

2018 brought lots of emerging changes to Edgewater. The year began with much anticipation about the new city building that was to take place. In the fall the wait was well worth it as…

…the ribbon cutting was a huge eye-opener to most residents who couldn’t believe what amazing resources were suddenly available. From the large all new gym to the library that is now 10x the space of the previous one.

In the last week of the year, the neighborhood favorite spot ‘Providence’ closed it’s doors, just as groundbreaking was well underway for the new Edgewater Public Market.

Regarding real estate, the year ended with a size-able gap from 2017 between the MEDIAN home price increase of +5.04 and the AVERAGE home price increase of  12.24%. This is primarily because of the 86 properties that sold in 2017, 25 of them were above the $500k mark, versus 17 of 110 in 2017. There was also nearly a 16% jump in price for the most expensive home sold in 2018 compared with 2017.

It’s also significant to see that the price per sq. foot finished, rose 14.58% in 2018 – which is especially important to note for the smaller homes in Edgewater.
